So I am now 31 years young as of March 1st, 2014. I have to say when I was a kid that I never thought about growing up getting to 31 – think I thought being a grown up and old was 20 years old.
Looking back at the last year I have achieved many goals that I had been working towards for many years-
I completed my Peace Corps Service.
I achieved better fluency in Moroccan Arabic.
I got married to my lovely husband and our first wedding anniversary is on March, 8th 2014. Apparently the first anniversary theme is paper.
It’s a great thing I am a crafty person and I have leftover art materials from my Peace Corps Volunteer days.
I celebrated my birthday party with my husband, his family and some friends who are neighbors of my in laws. My birthday gift was some yogurt 🙂 as my mother in law knows that I am a fan of yogurt.
There are things I am hoping that will happen or that I will achieve in 2014-2015 my 31st year on this fine planet –
I would love if I and my husband could get our marriage approved by USCIS on our I-130 and/or I -129F and finish the visa process.
I would love to move back to the USA with my husband.
I would love to find a job that uses my current skill set and pays a living wage in the US.
I want to figure out what make sense when it comes to the cost vs. benefit of going back to school for a Master’s Degree and make sure its something I enjoy. I have been toying with the idea of a Master’s in Library Science.
I want to help my husband to improve his reading and writing in English so he is better able to enter the US job market when we return to the US.
I want to make sure my husband is able to either continue his career by certification in US Fire fighting standards by going to Fire Academy in the US or in another field he enjoys such as Plumbing, Electrical, Computer Repair or Wood working.
I also want to make sure that once we do get approval from the USCIS to start downsizing all of the items that my husband and I have in our house either selling or giving items away to friends and family. I plan on shipping certain things home like our handmade rug and sheep skins so we don’t have to pay crazy luggage fees.
So happy birthday to me and I hope I make this year a good one!
