Everything mixed and final application of sugar and cocoa powder before adding in the water

This is a recipe from the Peace Corps Morocco : Kitchen Guide

I ended up baking this because I was out of butter but my husband had requested I bake a cake – so I pulled out the kitchen guide and voila – there was a recipe that did NOT need butter!

Its super simple to make and really yummy to eat!

4 Table Spoons cocoa powder and an addition 2 Table spoons cocoa powder

2 teaspoons baking powder

  1. That reminds me of a recipe I’ve used for years from the King Arthur Flour cookbook. They’ve got some really nice variations, like leaving out the cocoa and adding some shredded carrot.
