So about a year ago I responded to a post via a list that Lama – my now friend had posted asking for Muslim women interested in helping with her graduate thesis.
Apparently I was the only one to respond 🙂
So I met up with Lama at a café in San Francisco. She told be about her project to share the diversity of the Ummah, build interfaith and intercultural bridges through stories of Muslim women in a series of children’s books.
Lama interviewed me and spent the summer and fall developing the character and plot line of her book series – AMAL. Each book also has a doll – Lama’s doll is beautiful and mine is in the works.
