So the old line from limbo – how low can you go ? Has now changed to how pious can you get?

The Orthodox Jewish women are now feeling that they aren’t pious enough. So.. they are stepping up and wearing the niqab and abaya to be as pious as possible. I have to wonder do they think niqabi muslim sisters are more pious because they cover more? Do these women think they are in a competition with the women of the Ummah?
I am not sure what to think.
If your really doing something for the sake of Allah (swt) you’re not thinking about competition or how anyone else might perceive you.. that wouldn’t even enter into your mind.
The race we are engaged in – is one where we are challenging ourselves to beat our own best time in essence – to submit more willingly and easily than before. Our true competitor is ourselves.
I completely agree. Struggling against my own bad habits is challenge enough. I don’t want to worry about “beating” someone else.
